Musky Hunter Magazine Article Open Mind to Open Water

Summertime cold fronts, open water suspended muskies, and an open mind while fishing all put one of my best summer patterns together all explained in this article. 

In the most recent issue of Musky Hunter Magazine, I talk about the underutilized bait category of soft plastics after dark. Soft plastic baits catch a lot of my biggest fish each year and under the cover of darkness is no different. These are able to viewed at any time and although when done, are made live, they have the ability to be purchased for a low cost and a high informative value made for educational value to those who engage. 

Have spoken for a number of different groups including Huntley Anglers Club in IL, Muskies INC groups around the Chicagoland area to as far north as Brainerd, MN, and events like Musky Road Rules. I have two future events left during this 2023 spring, those being for the Chicagoland Muskie Hunters on April 11th and the FVR Chapter of Muskies INC on May 10th.

Having the chance to fish the full 2022 PMTT through a sponsorship by Fulton Performance Products was an incredible experience. Sam Stone and I made a quality run for our first season fishing the trail with a 4th place finish in Top Gun Team of the Year and a 3rd Place finish in the Eagle River/Three Lakes Chain Tournament, cashing a check and heading home with a trophy.
